Metro Council OKs $1.7M for BRPD fleet upgrade

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The Baton Rouge Police Department is set to add nearly 40 new police vehicles after the East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council approved funding last week.

BRPD Chief Thomas Morse requested $1.7 million in a letter to the council “for the purchase of essential police vehicles,” saying the department needs the units to support public safety operations and continue providing effective service to the community.
