Southlake officers arrest alleged fraudster tied to 27-plus victims, including several elderly people

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Southlake officers stopped a forgery in progress at a local bank, leading to the arrest of a man accused of scamming over 27 people across several states, officials said.

In a May 28 social media post, the Southlake Department of Public Safety said it recently responded to reports of a forgery in progress at a local bank, after being alerted to suspicious activity by employees.

Officers quickly detained a man accused of attempting to withdraw $8,000 using fraudulent identification, according to the post. At the same time, officers found that the man allegedly tried to withdraw an additional $12,000 earlier in the day in another city nearby, officials said…
