85°C Bakery Cafe opens second San Antonio location

It’s finally here — San Antonio’s second location of a popular Taiwanese bakery chain has officially opened on the Northeast Side, offering a wide array of unique goodies.

85°C Bakery Cafe first opened in the Alamo City less than two years ago, at a location off I-10 near the University of Texas at San Antonio. When it opened, MySA visited and found long lines and “vast rows of shelves packed with breads, pastries and sweet treats.” Now, locals who don’t live on that side of town won’t have to drive as far, as another location has warmed up its ovens in Windcrest. It’s currently open for business, according to a banner outside, with a grand opening set for June 26.

Named after the chain founder’s belief in the perfect coffee-drinking temperature, 85°C Bakery Cafe is known for its sea salt coffee, pastries that blend Asian and European flavors, and more. The menu features savory and sweet pastries, sandwiches, spicy sausages, custard buns, danishes, milk toast and more. As for gourmet cakes, you’ll find flavors like tiramisu, black forest, ube, macchiato and many others.

Similarly to panaderías in San Antonio, customers will add items to a tray before bringing it to checkout, where you can also order drinks such as classic coffees, flavored teas, Thai teas, smoothies and more…
