WEST POINT, Utah, June 1, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Davis County Sheriff officials said Monday that a pre-dawn shelter-in-place Monday resulted in several arrests, but is not believed related to the fatal shooting Saturday night in the same neighborhood.
A Davis County deputy conducting a routine area patrol at about 2:30 a.m. Monday responded to the sound of gunfire in the area of 2000 West and 200 North in West Point.
That is in the same block as the fatal shooting site of James Witten, 71, who was on a residential porch when he was fatally shot on Saturday…
