Cleveland Councilman Mike Polensek calls for Ohio State Highway Patrol’s help amid public safety concerns following violent weekend

CLEVELAND — Following a violent weekend that included multiple fatal shootings, Cleveland City Council Safety Committee Chair Mike Polensek is once again calling for assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

In a statement released Monday, Polensek said the recent violence highlights growing concerns about public safety as the city heads into the summer months.

“It’s become very clear to all members of Cleveland City Council that there is a growing concern about the increased level of violence as we approach the official start of summer,” Polensek said. “It’s also clear we need more police officers on Cleveland’s streets.”…
