Some of my earliest memories growing up in Fayetteville involve my father rushing out the door to make his way to Goodyear (Kelly Springfield at the time).
Our kitchen was small, and in the mornings it always felt a bit chaotic. He always seemed to be rushing and running behind, while the rest of us tried to stay out of the way. At the time, I didn’t think much about it. It was simply what adulthood looked like. You got up, went to work, provided for your family, and repeated the routine the next day.
Looking back now, I realize those jobs represented much more than a paycheck. They represented predictability. Stability. A future path people could understand…
