Plymouth Meeting Office Park Faces Wrecking Ball For 159-Unit Townhouse Takeover

A mostly empty office park in Plymouth Meeting could be on its way out, with developer Sal Paone pitching a plan this week to swap cubicles for townhouses. The proposal would replace the Plymouth Ridge office park at 523–531 Plymouth Road with as many as 159 townhomes, putting one of the area’s larger recent residential conversions in front of township officials and neighbors.

The concept is scheduled for a presentation to Plymouth Township Council on Monday, followed by a conditional-use review at the township planning agency on Wednesday. Neither meeting is expected to deliver a final verdict, but both will give nearby homeowners and local officials an early, formal chance to react.

Sal Paone Builder is listed in the council’s June 1 workshop packet as the presenter for what the township labels the “Plymouth Wood Project,” an initial look at the townhouse layout shown in the township’s workshop packet. The item appears under “Presentation Items,” which signals council will listen and ask questions but not take final action at the workshop.
