Syracuse school district officials say cell phone ban has improved classroom atmosphere

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — It’s been about a year since New York schools started cracking down on cell phone use in the classroom.

Now, educators are taking a look at whether the policy made a difference in student behavior, learning and discipline. Throughout the Syracuse City School District, kids and staff have adjusted, but there were, of course, bumps in the road.

Bruno Primerano, assistant superintendent of student support services for the district, said,” It’s still a work in progress, and what we’re obviously adapting and adjusting as we go.”…
