BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — City and county leaders joined together Tuesday in honor of Gun Violence Awareness Day.
Birmingham City Council President Pro Tem LaTonya Tate, who is also chair of the Public Safety Committee, hosted the press conference. Leaders said the goal is to reduce violence and create safer neighborhoods.
