CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — A third-grade teacher at Stono Park Elementary School is seeking donations to fund engaging books and hands-on manipulatives so students can see, touch and explore the topics they’re reading about.
Erin Stevens is working to make learning more interactive, visual and hands-on by taking lessons off the page and into students’ hands.
“Many of the lessons are very teacher-led and direct instruction, and so in this campaign, there are manipulatives and books and supplies for students to use to make the learning more interactive and for them to get their hands on the materials,” Stevens said.
