HERMOSA — Neighbors and a local alderperson are furious after a woman was killed recently at a busy Northwest Side intersection they’ve repeatedly complained about — and where plans to install a stoplight have dragged on for years.
Illeana Crisanto, a 62-year-old mother of three from Skokie, was fatally struck by a driver of a Nissan around 5:15 p.m. May 23 while she was walking near Belmont and Kilbourn avenues, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Nissan’s driver, a 35-year-old woman, was issued a failure to yield to pedestrian citation in the incident, police said.
Crisanto’s death was ruled an accident and the cause of death was deemed to be from “multiple injuries due to automobile striking pedestrian,” according to the Medical Examiner’s Office…
