As part of National Donut Day on June 5, Dunkin’ (the pastry shop formerly known as Dunkin’ Donuts) is offering a free classic donut to anyone who wants one. But unfortunately, this isn’t a slam dunk for Portlanders. The closest Dunkin’ is more than 500 miles away.
It wasn’t always like this. There were a number of locations in Portland back in the ’80s, and as recently as the early 2000s there were a few still in town, one at Southeast 39th and Powell Boulevard, and another on Southeast 82nd Avenue near Clackamas Town Center. But they’ve all been gone for a while now…
