A growing banking company is planning a branch location at a burgeoning mixed-use development in Lexington County.
Fifth Third Bank, a Cincinnati, Ohio-headquartered company with locations across a number of states, is bringing a branch to the Platt Springs Crossing development along Platt Springs Road in the increasingly busy Red Bank area of Lexington. The coming Fifth Third location is listed in the commercial activity section of the May agenda the Lexington County Planning Commission.
The bank branch will be located next door to a Whataburger restaurant at Platt Springs Crossing. Construction fencing and some heavy equipment were on the site when a reporter went by Tuesday, and there was a Fifth Third sign on the property that read “New bank taking shape.” An anticipated opening date for the branch has not been publicly announced.
There are nearly 1,100 Fifth Third locations across 12 states, according to the company’s website. Some of those states include South Carolina, Ohio, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee, among others…
