Chester woman arrested, charged with animal cruelty after video shows intent

A 35-year-old Chester woman has been arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty by the Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA). If convicted, the charges carry a large fine and potential jail time.

In a widely circulated video on social media, Lauren Carter, of the 500 block of Rose St., was filmed on April 16 pouring a substance from a bleach container onto piles of cat food left for local felines.

In the video, which was taken by a neighbor, a cat wearing a collar, later identified as, ”Jumper” by its owner, Olivia Oliver, can be seen approaching the tainted food…
