Tonawanda AI data center project delayed amid ongoing debate

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The developer behind a proposed $2 billion artificial intelligence data center in the town of Tonawanda is speaking out after WIVB News 4 learned the project is delayed. The proposal continues to spark debate with town leaders and community groups weighing in.

The development company, Riverview Innovation and Technology Campus, is proposing a 500,000-square-foot data center at the former Tonawanda Coke Industrial Site along River Road.
