Federal education funding ends for Reedley College flight program, leaving students uncert

REEDLEY, Calif. (FOX26) — A federal funding cut is creating uncertainty for students in Reedley College’s Flight Sciences Program, including one aspiring pilot who says her future in aviation is now up in the air.

Sheree Williams moved from Arizona to California to pursue her dream of becoming a commercial pilot through Reedley College’s aviation program. But now, she says those plans may be harder to achieve after the U.S. Department of Education ended funding that helped cover a portion of the cost required to earn a commercial pilot license.
