New York Records 13,000 Speed Violations In Thruway Work Zone

Over that brief time, it issued nearly 13,000 violation notices to drivers. The highest speed recorded was 85 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. The Thruway Authority is now urging motorists to obey posted speed limits for the sake of worker safety.
