SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Utah Pride Center and Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office held the annual Pride Flag raising at the Salt Lake City and County Building.
Many Utahns are celebrating Pride week this week, with several events hosted by the Utah Pride Center, including the pride parade. On Wednesday night, at 6:00, officials with the Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office and the Utah Pride Center raised a Sego Belonging Flag over the city.
The Sego Belonging Flag is one of four flags that the Salt Lake City Council voted to make an official city flag in May 2025, after HB 77 banned cities from flying any unofficial flags on certain government buildings.

The flag is meant to represent the city’s LGBTQIA residents. The Utah Pride Center describes it as, “a public symbol of visibility, inclusion, and solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community in Utah.”…
