NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A Bureau Commander with the North Charleston Police Department has filed a lawsuit against the city of North Charleston and the North Charleston Police Department, claiming that she has been discriminated against and intentionally retaliated against while working in the police force.
In her time working with the department, the plaintiff Tammy Sad states that she has faced age discrimination, harassment and retaliation on multiple occasions from multiple parties, and blames the city for not protecting her. When questioned about this issue, North Charleston Police Chief Ron Camacho said he had no comment at that time.
The lawsuit states that the incidents began in 2024 when the Police Department was required to search for a new Chief of the department.
