Hillsborough County considers new ordinance to address rising problem of loose livestock

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County leaders are moving forward with plans to create a new county-wide ordinance aimed at reducing the growing number of loose livestock incidents that have become a recurring public safety concern.

The proposal, backed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), comes as deputies continue to respond to hundreds of calls each year involving roaming cattle, horses, and other livestock.
