ILLINOIS — Two people were arrested on drug and weapons charges after allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop Wednesday night in Rockford.
According to the Rockford Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle around 10 p.m. near Preston Street and Newport Avenue that was believed to be connected to an earlier incident.
Police said 18-year-old Andres Whitaker and a 17-year-old male ran from the vehicle but were apprehended a short time later…
