Springfield police search for missing 70-year-old man with Alzheimer’s

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield police are asking for the public’s help to find a 70-year-old man with Alzheimer’s who was reported missing Thursday morning from the city’s west Centennial area.

The Springfield Police Department said Harold Batchelder was reported missing by his wife at about 9:30 a.m. on June 4, 2026 from their residence. Police said Stephanie Bachelder last saw her husband at home when she went to bed at around 11 p.m. on June 3.

Police said Harold Batchelder is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and sundowner’s syndrome. Officers searched the area on the ground and used a police drone but were unable to locate him…
