One hospitalized after house fire in Pierce County

Crews put out a fire with 30-foot flames at a house in Graham early Thursday morning.

Ron Kent, district chief for Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, told The News Tribune the call came in at about 12:47 p.m. in the 22500 block of 147th Avenue Court East.

When crews arrived, Kent said, they found the flames consuming the roof, along with a “big column of smoke.”

There was one burn victim in the front yard, Kent said, and she was rushed to a local hospital with severe injuries. Kent said her injuries were not life-threatening…
