SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – After having mostly dry conditions for many in KELOLAND during the spring months, we’ve flipped the switch and now we’re experiencing steady hit of showers and storms with locally heavy rainfall.
This graphic shows the rainfall totals over the past five days. There are a couple of highlighted areas. In particular, Oglala Lakota County, in southwest South Dakota where 5-6″ and more of rain has fallen. Two other locations take us to northeast South Dakota, north and west of Aberdeen has had at least 4 to 5 inches, and 3 to 5 inches south of Watertown.
I’ve outlined the areas that haven’t has as much rain, north central South Dakota as well as parts of south central and southeast KELOLAND.
Keeping those areas highlighted, here’s a look at the next two days for rain on the European model. A lot of it missing those areas.
The American model is showing some improvement from Mitchell south, but it does keep much of north central South Dakota dry.
After our scattered rain through Friday, Saturday should be quiet before we start making noise with more showers and storms Sunday into next week…
