Cleveland police: 92 guns, $450K in drug proceeds seized during citywide crime reduction initiative

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police says a citywide crime reduction initiative launched this spring has resulted in more than 90 felony arrests, the seizure of 92 firearms and the recovery of large quantities of narcotics in its first seven weeks.

Police on Friday released updated results from the SPF-216 initiative, a targeted enforcement effort launched April 15 that is focused on reducing violent crime, removing illegal firearms and disrupting drug trafficking operations throughout Cleveland.

According to police, officers and detectives assigned to the initiative have made more than 90 felony arrests and seized more than 92 firearms in the first 47 days of the operation.
