Three Rivers hospital worker honored as hero months after saving patient during tornado

DOWAGIAC, Mich. — Months after dramatic surveillance video showed a Three Rivers hospital worker shielding a patient during a tornado, the community gathered Friday to honor her courage while she shared another emotional update of her own.

Abigail Hostetler received the George A. Cooper Award during a ceremony hosted by the Camp Eberhart Alumni Association, an organization that recognizes heroism, service and lifesaving actions throughout the Michiana area.
