Popular Oakland County golf course closing as early as Monday

SOUTH LYONS, MI – A popular Oakland County golf course is set to close to make way for a new housing development.

Cattails Golf Course in South Lyon could shut down as early as Monday, with the public 18-hole course on West Nine Mile Road being cleared for redevelopment, course Manager Ethan Fanning said.

After June 8, the course will not be making any tee times, Fanning said. Cattails will operate on a “week-to-week basis,” he added. The Detroit Free Press first reported the course’s closure…
