WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita man was sentenced to prison Friday for multiple crimes involving a child under 14.
Jared Mendez, 38, was sentenced to 25 years to life on three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He was also sentenced to 61 months for attempted rape and seven months for criminal threat.
The crimes occurred over multiple years between about 2019 to 2022, according to court records. Mendez repeatedly fondled a girl and threatened to kill her and her family if she ever said anything, according to an affidavit.
