CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – James Monroe’s Highland will host its fifth annual Descendants Day on Saturday, June 6, bringing together descendants, community members, historians, and visitors to reflect on the lives and legacies of the people who were enslaved at the historic site.
The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Highland, located at 2050 James Monroe Parkway in Albemarle County.
