The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved a Notice of Intent (NOI) to establish rules and regulations for the Louisiana Conservation Incentive Program during its June meeting on Tuesday, June 2, in Baton Rouge.
The purpose of the program, to be administered by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), is to address the natural resource concerns of private landowners and provide funding to enhance their management efforts. The Louisiana Conservation Incentive Program was created during the 2025 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature and received an appropriation of funding from the 2026 Regular Session that ended June 1.
