Parkville man charged after prosecutors say 100+ mph crash killed passenger

PARKVILLE, Mo. (KCTV) – A Parkville man is charged with manslaughter after prosecutors say he had been drinking and was driving more than 100 mph when he crashed, killing a woman riding in the car.

The Platte County Prosecutor’s Office has charged 18-year-old Om Patel with second-degree involuntary manslaughter, court records show.

According to charging documents, investigators allege Patel was driving a BMW at more than 100 miles an hour in a 45 mph zone when he lost control and the vehicle rolled. A passenger in the car died at the scene, investigators said…
