New York City bar will be a ‘living tribute’ to Pogues legend Shane MacGowan

Music enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy drinks at a bar named in honor of legendary hell-raiser Shane MacGowan.

The establishment, scheduled to open in New York, will serve as a “living tribute to a true icon”, according to management.

The Irish Rover singer – who passed away at 65 in 2023 – was equally renowned for his wild lifestyle and alcohol consumption as for his musical talents, famously saying: “I was given six weeks to live, about 25 years ago.”…
