Residents say water smelled like a combo of poop and death. Now a Pa. company faces felony charges

The water coming from her shower head smelled like “a combination of poop and death,” Antrim Township, Franklin County resident Stacy Grove told a state investigator.

It was also, Grove noted, an odor exactly like the outside air when the neighboring farmer had food processing residuals, or FPRs, applied to his fields for fertilization – which she said was happening regularly in the summer of 2021.

Five years later, state officials have now filed environmental crimes against the hauler whom they allege caused the contamination of Grove’s and two other neighbors’ private wells via a spill of chicken slaughterhouse wastewater…
