A ribbon-cutting with local business leaders and community members made the opening feel more like a neighborhood block party than a routine debut, with photos showing the new storefront at 9211 Broadway Ave and a crowd gathered out front.

La Flor Michoacana grows out of a family-run operation that has been opening locations around Chicago’s western suburbs, and owner Saul Soto told the Riverside-Brookfield Landmark in June 2025 that he planned to bring his uncle’s recipes to Brookfield.
