CONWAY S.C. (WBTW) — A high-speed motorcycle chase involving a fatal crash happened along Hwy. 548 at Reevis Way in Conway early Sunday morning. At around 2:10 a.m. Horry County Sheriff deputies responded to the fatal crash. South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers confirmed one person was killed in the crash.
A SC Highway Patrol Trooper observed the motorcyclist traveling on Highway 501 North at a high rate of speed and attempted a traffic stop. The motorcyclist failed to pull over, which resulted in a pursuit on Highway 501 North towards downtown Conway. The motorcyclist then turned onto Highway 548, and ran off the roadway into a ditch, causing fatal injuries. The case remains under investigation.
