North Bay educator mourned as victim of crash that closed 101 during commute

The Windsor school district is mourning an educator killed in a four-vehicle crash that closed northbound Highway 101 in Santa Rosa for hours last week.

The California Highway Patrol said Maryann Parrish, 47, died in the crash near Highway 12 reported around 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Press Democrat.

Parrish had been with the Windsor Unified School District since 2021, most recently serving as an instructional aide for second-graders at Mattie Washburn Elementary. She had strong family ties to the district, with family members working there and attending its schools…
