Motorcyclist tells troopers he fled at 145+ mph because he was ‘scared,’ had marijuana in pocket: FHP

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Troopers arrested a man Saturday night after he allegedly led them on a pursuit in Pasco County while reaching speeds over 100 mph.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol arrest report, a trooper was on State Road 52 at 9:40 p.m. when he clocked a sports motorcycle traveling at 104 mph in a 45-mph zone.

The trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the motorcycle allegedly accelerated away. The suspect quickly continued eastbound on State Road 52, weaving in and out of traffic and reaching speeds over 145 mph, FHP said…
