Man arrested for allegedly robbing and assaulting a Honolulu bus driver

HONOLULU (Island News) – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) arrested a man following an apparent robbery incident that occurred on a Honolulu City Bus on Saturday afternoon.

According to police documents, the incident happened at approximately 1 p.m. when a 50-year-old man entered a bus, which was not in service and unoccupied at the time, and began allegedly depriving it of property.

During the commission of theft, the 50-year-old man allegedly assaulted the bus driver with a hard object and sprayed them with a fire extinguisher before leaving the scene with stolen property…
