A Battle Creek American Legion post is among the veteran organizations receiving state funding for facility upgrades, as Michigan awarded more than $3.7 million through its Veterans Nonprofit Improvement Grant program, according to a community announcement.
Captain Oscar Brady American Legion Post 298 in Battle Creek was selected to receive $247,561.34 as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 grant cycle administered by the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The funding supports improvements to buildings owned and operated by nonprofit veteran service organizations across the state.
“These grants help ensure our veteran service organizations can continue serving as welcoming, accessible spaces for veterans and their families,” said Marie Douville, program manager for the department. “The organizations receiving these awards play an important role in supporting veterans at the local level, and these facility improvements will help them continue their missions for years to come.”
