Pet store closing its Delmar location after 14 years

DELMAR, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Healthy Pet Center, located at 154 Delaware Avenue in Delmar, is closing its doors. The pet store made the announcement in a Facebook post on Sunday.

“The Delmar store will always hold a special place in our hearts,” read the post. “There are so many amazing memories of customers, staff, and animals, both past and present, that we will always cherish.”

Healthy Pet Center opened its first location in North Greenbush over two decades ago. The owners then opened the Delmar location in 2012 and later opened another store in Latham.

Healthy Pet Center offers grooming, baths, tag engraving, pet supplies, and helps facilitate pet adoptions. The North Greenbush and Latham locations will be staying open.

“This has been a very difficult decision but after a great deal of consideration we are confident that it is the right one,” the post continued. “It will allow us to streamline our operations and devote more time and attention to the Troy [North Greenbush] and Latham stores where we will continue the HPC tradition of offering you the best products, value, and service that we possibly can.”
