2 drivers hospitalized after crash involving semi near Plainwell

GUN PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A driver was pinned inside a semi-truck when it tipped over and spilled asphalt on a road near Plainwell, deputies say.

It happened around 3 p.m. Monday, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office. A vehicle was headed south on 11th Street in Gun Plain Township and did not yield to the semi-truck, which was headed west on 106th Avenue hauling crushed asphalt.

The semi lost control, turning over and spilling the asphalt all over 106th Avenue. The driver was pinned inside for a while before being extracted by first responders. The semi driver and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries deputies said were serious…
