Security video from an East El Paso motel shows a man in a dark hoodie pulling a knife on staff and walking off with property, in a robbery that unfolded just off Interstate 10 and a short drive from El Paso International Airport.
The holdup happened May 7, at the Quality Inn at 900 N. Yarbrough Drive. The surveillance clip was later selected as a Crime of the Week case and circulated publicly before local outlets picked up the story on June 7. The footage shows the suspect brandishing a knife and taking items from the motel area, although it is not clear from the video whether anyone was injured.
Crime Stoppers posts video, asks public to ID suspect
Crime Stoppers of El Paso labeled the robbery footage its Crime of the Week and is asking for help identifying the suspect in the hoodie. The group says tipsters can remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward if their information leads to an arrest.
According to the organization, tips can be called in at 915-566-8477 or submitted through its online system, which allows users to submit information without revealing their identity.
