SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany and Schenectady city leaders traveled to Vermont last week to learn about Burlington’s tiny home Elmwood Pods Neighborhood that takes people experiencing homelessness off the streets.
The Elmwood Community Shelter in Burlington Vermont works to give unhoused people a chance at dignity through providing tiny homes, giving shelter from the elements. Leaders say there is a large waitlist.

CEDO Homelessness and Public Health Manager Rebecca Reese said she’s happy Burlington was able to share what they’ve learned from the community with Capital Region lawmakers.
“They take pride in it, they take care of their space, make the pods their own and really are just so thrilled to be here and be a part of the community,” said Reese. “That is more important than anything.”…
