Community of Caring asks for Operation Water Drop donations

The Community of Caring is asking for the public’s help in their efforts to make sure Erie’s homeless stay hydrated during the hot summer months.

The organization announced the start of its Operation Water Drop on Monday.

Duran’s Down Home Days raises money for local veteran program

Executive director Christine Tombaugh said they’re hoping to collect cases of water at their East 8th Street location beginning on Monday and continuing throughout the summer.

With temperatures expected to reach into the 80’s next week with increased humidity, providing cold water for the homeless is a crucial service for the organization.
