A hot and unsettled stretch of weather is setting up across the region as temperatures climb near 90 degrees and humidity continues to build. Forecasters say a combination of heat and moisture will fuel rounds of thunderstorms today, with additional storm chances later in the week.
Batches of thunderstorms are expected to move through the area in waves today. While not everyone will see continuous rain, periods of heavy downpours and lightning will be possible as storms develop in the warm, unstable air mass.
