Ottawa County community passes 1-year moratorium on data centers

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – Allendale Township leaders are hitting pause on any data center projects for one year as they look to come up with new rules regulating future proposals.

The township board passed a one-year moratorium this week, pausing consideration of any data center proposals as well as other large-scale projects like solar and wind farms and battery storage facilities.
