A new tradition is preparing to make waves in North Texas this summer. The inaugural Lake Lewisville Dragon Boat Festival will bring teams, spectators and community organizations together on June 27, for a day of racing, cultural celebration and family-friendly entertainment at Copperas Branch Park.
While dragon boat racing has grown in popularity across the country, this marks the first event of its kind on Lake Lewisville. Organizers hope the festival will become an annual gathering that celebrates community while raising support for an important local cause.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Serve Denton, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting individuals and families with essential services while supporting a network of partner organizations throughout Denton County.
