Lafayette’s draft water plan targets lower usage; community feedback process open through late July

Members of the Lafayette community can contribute feedback to the city’s new water-efficiency and drought-response plan through late July.

The purpose of the plan is to reduce long-term water use by promoting water efficiency in non-drought years, a Lafayette Listens webpage says. The plan was to be developed in accordance with Colorado policy, according to the page.

Also an intent behind the plan: to “protect the health and safety during drought and water shortages by ensuring reliable water supplies and, to the extent possible, supporting community well-being, local livelihoods, and environmental stewardship,” the page adds…
