A steamy Wednesday with a slight chance for a few storms.

  • Today: (30%) Partly cloudy, warm, and humid with some spotty P.M. storms around. High: 88° (Heat Index: 95°-100°).
  • Tonight: (20%) A limited chance for a storm early, then cloudy and muggy overnight. Low: 71°.
  • Tomorrow: Hot and humid with a very low chance for a random mountain storm. High: 91° (Heat Index: 95°-100°).

Today will be warmer and a little more humid, along with a partly cloudy sky. High temperatures will reach the mid-to-upper 80s. High humidity levels will result in peak Heat Index Values (or “feels like” temperatures) reaching the mid-to-upper 90s. It will be quite steamy this afternoon. There is a chance for a few spotty showers and storms during the afternoon/evening. Many will stay dry. For those that do see rain, it may be locally heavy and lead to an isolated spot of flooding. Those closer to the Tri-Cities have the best chance for rain.

Storm chances will fizzle past sunset. It will remain partly cloudy and humid. Overnight lows will be near 70°. Thursday will be another steamy day. Highs will reach the upper 80s. Once again, Heat Index Values (or “feels like” temperatures) will reach the mid-to-upper 90s. Rain chances look very limited. A random pop-up storm is possible in the mountains, but most will stay dry.

The possibility for scattered showers and even some stronger storms will return on Friday as a weak cold front slides into our region from the northwest during the afternoon/evening hours. It will remain warm and humid ahead of this front with highs in the upper 80s once again. There will be plenty of storm fuel available as this front moves through. We could see the threat of some stronger winds, along with the potential for some locally heavy rainfall once again…
