PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A key decision in the future of Currie Park is moving forward as city officials review proposals from three groups hoping to operate a new waterfront restaurant at the popular West Palm Beach park.
An evaluation and selection committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday afternoon at West Palm Beach City Hall to hear presentations from the finalists and rank their proposals. The restaurant would become part of the city’s ongoing $35 million redevelopment of Currie Park along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The project marks a significant change for the park, which has never included a commercial restaurant or dining venue.
City officials envision the restaurant being built on the north end of the park as part of a larger renovation effort that includes new recreational amenities, waterfront improvements and public gathering spaces. The park is expected to reopen in March 2027 following construction.
